Fasting and Healthy Food

I learn to be fasting start from last year of Easter. To be frankly, should be fast for 40 days not eat any food from you wake in the morning untill 4 pm and you can still drink water (no coffee or sweet drink, not dark tea but light tea is still acceptable.) Well some people say you start fasting from 10 pm untill 3 pm the next day, while other believe it is start from the time you wake up in the morning and start to break your fasting at 4 pm or maybe 5 pm. Mine is from the time i wake up around 7 am untill 4 pm. From many sources that i have found from internet, they say it might be better for 8 hours fasting. No eating, but drink water is allowed. Because in Bible written that Jesus is hungry not thirsty. When you break your fast try not to feast a fancy meal, instead of more to healthy food like vegetables or fruits, oatmeal, juices or soup. And also not a heavy meal. Because the point of fasting here ia too get closer to God, surrender, repent our sins or mistakes and admit that God is our Saviour, Redeemer, Our Father and our Lord. When we fast try to do more good stuff like read bible, listen to Christian songs, listen to preaching from video or even read a Christian Inspirational book (for example Joseph Prince, Joyce Meyer). The most important things is how we act, speak and things. Because the more you get close to God and the blessing, the more some people will try to condemn, take away your peace/happiness. Try to not give negative reaction to them, instead of just smile and forgive them. I know its hard because we are just human right, no one perfect and good except God. The next valuable point is ask God to blessed our family or friend even our enemey, pray for them so they can be changed and accept Jesus. I heard a sermon (preaching) from Pastor Philip Mantofa, He said while you fasting dont ask God for your wishes instead pray for others, that God hear your prayer and everything will be added to yours. Because God know what happen in your life and your future. His plans are greater than ours!! Amen!! Praise the Lord!!
