This is the Must Cooking on the List, when the night before Chinese New Year. My Grandmother from Dad who already passed away, always prepare this meal for us, when we visit her home. It is such a comfort food for me. She prepare and cook with love and of course the fresh ingredients. My Grandma also add Crab Meat to enhance the flavour, it give a hint of sweet flavour. Also another Fish Ball, that chewy and soft, very nice combination with the sauté Vegetables like green bean, bean sprout, carrot, yellow tofu and also the ground peanut sugary give a kick flavour into it.
Every bite give a burst of powerful flavour, it is a simply heart warming to the soul and satisfied my craving. Every time i eat this Lumpia, i will always remember Her as a person, She love to smile and laugh, even to my silly things. She is born in China, that makes Her Indonesian speech is not fluently as i am who born in Jakarta. Too bad, she sick for quite a long time and get a serious treatment. But it getting worst, and she become very thin. I was shock, when i heard she passed away, i cry at the office back then. We visit her, on my Uncle's home. She is gone and safe in Heaven. She is a good hearted person and a great home cooking chef. I miss her cooking like Lomie, Ngohiong. It simply comfort food that money can't buy, but happiness it is.
Ingredients:
Spring Roll Sheet
shreded carrot
Shreded green beans
Bean sprout
Yellow Tofu
Fried fish cakes
Ground peanuts
Sugar
How to Cook :
Sautee all the ingredients except fish cake, peanut and sugar
Fried fish cake and slice thinly
Mixed ground peanuts with granulated sugar (or you cab substitute with palm sugar)
How to Eat:
Take a Spring Roll sheet, put all the sautee veggies, fried fish cake, and sugar peanut.
Fold and take the very first bite
Miam miam... Healthy And Yummy
